The Cantata Academy Chorale periodically accepts experienced adult singers in all vocal ranges.  Auditions for singers new to the Chorale can be scheduled for the afternoon and early evening of Sunday, August 24, 2008.  Call the Cantata Academy Chorale office at (248) 358-9868 to schedule an audition time.  Experienced singers should bring a prepared piece of a classical nature and be ready for sight reading.  The audition should last no more than 10 minutes.

The Cantata Academy Chorale is an auditioned adult chorus that has been performing for 47 years.  Each year it produces its own subscription concert series and hires out to orchestras, churches and other concert series. Its concerts are presented throughout Southeast Michigan. The Chorale holds weekly rehearsals during the academic year in Warren, MI. The Cantata Academy Chorale has appeared with every major orchestra in the metropolitan Detroit area, including the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. In addition, from 1973 through 2005, the Chorale has made biennial tours to Europe.  The Chorale's Music Director and Conductor is Maurice T. Draughn, who is also the Director of the Wayne State University Men's Glee Club, a gifted harpist and a published composer and arranger.
